Creative Spotlight: Shauna Veasey Photography
Today we are welcoming Shauna of Shauna Veasey Photography to the creative spotlight! Shauna creates beautiful imagery for her clients and in her personal life and we are so excited to hear more about her and her business!
When did you start your business/blog? I started my business about 6 years ago.
Where does your passion stem from? My passion stems from the love of storytelling and finding beauty in even the smallest of details. Ever since I can remember I have framed images in my mind and been drawn to beautiful sceneries. It wasn't until my husband bought me a DSLR in 2006 that I discovered visual storytelling. Eventually, photography became my greatest passion and ultimately lead to a career change. It is a tremendous blessing that my passion and career collided many years later and I am so thankful to have a job that I love.
If you could go back and give yourself one piece of advice what would it be? Start shooting film sooner. You will love it and never look back! It will make you a better photographer and story-teller and teach you more about yourself and your business than anything else.
What is one way you stay inspired outside of your industry/field? My faith, travel, interior design and fashion are just a few things that keep me inspired. I find that exploring new places and cultures inspires my work the most. I am always planning the next adventure!
Favorite project AND most challenging project? My favorite project also happens to be my most challenging one. Last year I hosted my very first workshop (@thriveworkshop) for aspiring photographers. It was a ton of work but pouring into other women was incredibly fulfilling and brought me so much joy. I can't wait for the next one!
Favorite wedding photography hack (or best tip for photographing wedding days)? Bring a styling board and a few props for styling the details and invitation suite on the wedding day. You just never know what type of space you will be dealing with when you arrive. I bring 2 styling boards, a few trays, ribbon, vintage stamps, ring boxes, scissors, etc. to ensure that I can create and style the details beautifully.
Three favorite things right now: Gardening, our bernedoodle puppy and planning the final details of our Europe trip in 5 weeks!
Thanks for sharing with us today Shauna! Be sure to follow her below!
